The three keywords for my work are Communication, Computer Interaction, and Community.

Communication means that people interact with each other. I am particularly interested in people coming to share the sense of direct communication through my projects, a sense that they cannot feel in the virtual world. I hope that my works will create the feeling of close relationships among people on the site and to provide opportunities for them to feel the real presence of each other.

Computer Interaction is one of the advantages that computers can provide. Its strength is that it is not one-way communication. Communication of this type has multiple possibilities. For example, interactive art works change the relationship between artists and their audience. Generally, art works are transported to the audience from the artists unidirectionally. In contrast, when facing interactive art works, the audience cannot be mere receivers. They must do something in order to understand them. The actions might be dancing, painting, or talking, and the audience will be the performers for the work. In turn, the artists will become the audience for such participating performers. Thus, the audience and the artists become collaborators.

In my opinion, Community means shared place for communication. I hope that people will come together around my work, communicate with each other, and subconsciously receive messages through the space. Instead of the community imposing messages on people, I hope that the community will give people a place for sharing time, meeting other people, and feeling the presence of each other.

I hope to be able to continue to express my ideas, centering on these notions of Communication, Computer Interaction, and Community.
